Obituary of Sarah Ann MacKenzie
Sarah Ann (Sally) MacKenzie, 63, of Riverview, died on December 7, 2010 at The Moncton Hospital with her best friend and longtime companion, Kathy Elderkin at her side. Born October 27, 1947 in St. Peter's, NS; Sally is the eldest child of Christine MacKenzie of Grand River, NS and the late A.C. MacKenzie.
Sally's business career began with the Royal Bank of Canada. A self-motivated, professional woman, Sally became known as an asset to the business world and held management positions at Taylor Ford, Moncton Kia and Acadia Toyota as well as being resident manager of Cross Creek Mini Home Park. Many patrons in greater Moncton, agree that financing a car with Sally "made buying a vehicle easy".
Over the years Sally has biked, fished, bowled, skated, curled, played golf, hockey and softball. She'd try anything that would add more fun and excitement to her life. There are knitted sweaters, handmade clothes, lots of crocheted throws and framed momentos across Canada and the U.S., that give credence to Sally's talents. Lots of cross stitches of sentimental value have just become more precious.
Sally is survived by her mother Christy, her best friend and longtime companion Kathy Elderkin, brothers Frankie (Betty Lou) of Sask; Donald (Geraldine) of St. Peter's, NS; Gordon of Saint John and Roger (Marianne) of Florida; sisters Cindy (Kenny Martel) of Rockdale, NS and Mary Margaret Clements (Richard) of Moncton; her niece Amy held a very special place in her heart as did her God Child Sabrina LeBel; as well as several other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Sally was predeceased by her father A.C. Mackenzie in 2000, brother Arthur in 1994 and a infant sister Mary Elaine in 1959, as well as grandparents, aunts and uncles.
