Obituary of Noreen H. Cassidy

Noreen H. Cassidy; age 73, residing most of her life in Moncton; she passed away at Forest Dale Home in Riverside-Albert, NB., on Sunday, November 6, 2011. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Claire (Cunningham) Cassidy. She retired from the Times & Transcript after 16 years of service - a job that she loved. Noreen was a lifelong member of St. Bernard's Parish. It was here that she was baptized, confirmed and had her first communion. She also taught Sunday School and helped set up the altar for 16 years. St. Bernard's, as Noreen often told, was her second home. She is survived locally by her sister-in-law Linda Cassidy (the late Ralph); nephew Wayne Cassidy, cousins, and her friend Emily Gosselin; and from Ontario by her niece Brenda, and nephews Brian, Michael and Brent. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Frances, and brothers Gerald, Donald and Ralph Cassidy. Her cousin, Shirley Baglole is honoring Noreen's final wishes and holding a funeral mass at St. Bernard's Church, Botsford St., Moncton, on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 9:30 am with Father Allison Carroll officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall following the mass. Interment will be at the Shediac Road Roman Catholic Cemetery, Moncton, NB. Donations in Noreen 's memory made to the Alzheimer's Society or to St. Bernard's Church would be appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Bros.
