Obituary of June Shirley McNeish
It is with a great sense of loss that the family of June (Wagg) McNeish announce the passing at home, on Sunday, of their beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
June was born on June 8th, 1928 in Moncton, the daughter of the late George and Betty (Hodder) Wagg. She was the wife of 59 years of the late J. Walter McNeish. (2007)
June was a life long member of Central United Church, being a member of The Hazel Garland Unit of the U.C.W.
A homemaker, June enjoyed her married years raising her family and being a part of the lives of her children and their families. June had many interests and was a member of The Moncton Curlers Association (M.C.A.), Frank H. Tingley, O.E.S. and a number of bridge clubs. The winter months, following Walter’s retirement they enjoyed over twenty –five years of wonderful times in Florida making many friends.
June is survived by her daughter Laura and Paul Whitmee of Riverview, son John and Heather McNeish of Riverview. Her grandchildren, Beth Whitmee of Calgary, Jonathan (Arlene Mendoza) Whitmee of Whistler BC; Kevin (Christina) McNeish of Riverview, Carrie (Michael Patrick) McNeish of Moncton. Her great-grandchildren, Jack and Ava McNeish of Riverview.
She is also survived by her brother, George (Jean) Wagg of Moncton. In addition, she has many cousins, nieces and nephews surviving.
Predeceased by her parents and husband, June was also predeceased by her brother Leslie.
Visitation will be at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. Moncton, on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
Funeral will be on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 2:00pm from Central United Church with Rev. Dr. Jim MacDonald presiding.
A reception will follow at St. George’s Anglican Church Hall corner of Queen and Church Streets.
Donations may be given in memory of June to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation, Central United Church Memorial Fund, The N.B. Lung Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
