Obituary of Shirley Etta Strugnell
Shirley Etta Strugnell, formerly of Waterloo St. Moncton passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, of cancer at the Moncton Hospital on Monday March 4, 2013 at the age of 86 years. Born in Sunny Brae she was the daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Wood) Bailey. Shirley retired from the CNR Telegraph office after many years service. She was a member of St. George's Anglican Church in Moncton. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her step son Edward Harold Strugnell also by several nieces and nephews and step grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband James S. Long (1969), and her second husband Harold Strugnell in 1995; sisters Patricia Owens, Audrey Convery; brother Harold Bailey who died in WWII and buried overseas, and step son David Strugnell. The funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel, 171 Lutz Street on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 2:00pm with Rev. Chris VanBuskirk officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in the spring. Donations in Shirley's memory may be made to the St. George's Anglican Church or to the memorial of the donor's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Bros.
