Obituary of Kenneth "Ken" Lamont MacDougall
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth "Ken" Lamont MacDougall at the age of 82 years at the Moncton Hospital Friday, March 27, 2015.
Ken joined the Navy after high school serving 10 years, travelling all over the world. After leaving the navy, he was employed with CN Railway and Marine Atlantic. Ken was an extremely involved member of the Riverview Lions Club for 45 years winning numerous awards and recognition for his efforts. He was also a member of the Riverview Veteran's and Armed Forces Association and a member of St. John's United Church.
Ken will be remembered for his friendly and generous nature, who was always open to helping others.
He was born in Mount Forest, ON., and is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Ruth Ann (Brown) and children Cindy (Colin), Debbie, Jim (Kathy) and Kathy (Steve); ten grandchildren John, Kosta, Helena, Kayla, Brittany, Sarah, Emma, Drew, Derek and Serena; eight great-grandchildren Keagan, Leeam, Nolan, Aubrey, Laylan, Emmerson, Nickolas and Olivier; a brother Jim (Ann); as well as a number of nephews and nieces.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers Peter, Don, Graham, Lincoln and Jack and by a sister Mary.
Keeping with Ken's wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
A private family graveside service will be held at Fairhaven Memorial Gardens, Moncton.
The Family will be receiving relatives and friends on Saturday, May 23, 2015 from the hours of 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Riverview Lions Club, 701 Coverdale Rd. Riverview, NB.
It would be appreciated by the MacDougall Family that donations in Ken's memory be made to the St. John's United Church "Karing Kitchen" or to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation.
