Obituary of Ruth Ayles
Ruth Ayles, age 102, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, July 22 nd . Widow of William Ayles (1974) and daughter of Robert and Lena (Blackwood) Gourley, she is survived by daughter Anne Posch (Jonathan Shute), son Peter Ayles (Lydia), grandchildren Christopher Ayles (Tara Tudor), Michael Ayles (Violaine Debailleul), Kenneth Posch (Vicki Coates-Posch) and Susan Posch Rogers (Anthony James Rogers) and great grandchildren Noah Ayles, Callum Ayles, William Posch and Julien Debailleul. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters Irene Williams, Betty Weldon and June Bain, brother Leslie Gourley and younger relatives Eric Gourley, David Weldon, and Dick Washburn.
Ruth lived an active life with a passion for the game of bridge, travelling the world and strongly supporting her community. She was active in IODE, Saint George's Anglican Church (choir, Willing Workers), Meals on Wheels and the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation. Ruth will be greatly missed by family and friends.
The family thanks McNair Manor staff for their loving care of Ruth.
A funeral service will be held at Saint George's Anglican Church, 51 Church St, Moncton NB E1C 4Z3 at 11:00 AM on Thursday August 17th, followed by a reception downstairs. Interment will be held at Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.
Memorial donations may be made to the Moncton Hospital Foundation.
