Obituary of Helen Norah Haslett

Helen Norah Haslett of Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital, on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the age of 90 years. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland she was the daughter of the late George and Nettie (Hope) Johnstone. She immigrated to Canada with her parents in 1927. She was predeceased by her husband James (Eugene) Haslett in 2000 and her brother George. She is survived by a sister Isabelle of Hamilton, Ontario; son George Haslett of Ottawa, Ont; daughter Heather Sawatzky and her husband Ken of Riverview; grandsons Peter Sawatzky of Moncton and Isaac Sawatzky of Riverview. Helen was a graduate of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society Missionary School (Gilead) in 1947. She married James Eugene Haslett in 1953 and resided in the province of Quebec until her husband's death in 2000. She resided in Riverview, NB from 2000 until 2013. Helen was an active member of the Riverview congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She loved her God Jehovah and showed it by her self-sacrificing spirit, putting the needs of others before her own. She set a fine example for us to follow. She will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. The memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 25 War Veteran's Avenue., Moncton on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 2:00 pm conducted by Stephen Hall.
