Obituary of Helen Louisa Steeves
Helen L. Steeves, of Riverview, passed away with family by her side at The Moncton Hospital, on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at the age of 92 years. Born in Turtle Creek, NB she was the daughter of the late Leander and Blanch (Douthwright) Tingley. Helen retired from the U.A.P. Automotive after many years service. She was a member of the Gunningsville Baptist Church; a former Sunday School Teacher, she was involved with the Pioneer Girls and Brownies. She also enjoyed time spent caring for the children in the Nursery. In Helen's spare time she enjoyed knitting, cooking and above all she enjoyed time spent with her family. She is survived by her daughters Peggy Harris of Saint John and Nancy McAleese and her husband Fred of Riverview with whom she resided; sister Greta Bell of Moncton; brother Everett Tingley and his wife Brenda of Turtle Creek, NB; grandchildren Susan Carlson and her husband Wayne of Hampton, Misty Arseneault of Hammond River, Luke McAleese of Riverview and Tawnee McAleese of Riverview; great grandchildren Jillian Carlson, Shayna Arseneault, Becky Arseneault, and Emily Carlson; great great grandson Christian Levesque; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Arthur Steeves; son Wayne Steeves; sisters Verna, Marion, Theresa, Iva, Marjorie, Myrtle; brothers Frank, James and Guy. Visitation will be held at the Riverview Funeral Home on Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 2:00pm-6:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Gunningsville Baptist Church on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Blair Holden officiating. Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery in the spring.
