Obituary of Hollis R. Hicks

Hollis R. Hicks of Peoples Park Tower Moncton passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the age of 94. Born in Butternut Ridge, NB he was the son of the late Horace and Alice (Sutherland) Hicks. Hollis, was a veteran of WWII serving three years with the Royal Canadian Navy, Retired President of Brunswick Auto Electric, Lewisville Rd. Moncton, he was a pilot and had a passion for flight. A Member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, past member of the Lion's Club and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6, he enjoyed travelling with his wife across North America. Survived by four daughters: Linda Small (Melvin) of Moncton, Anne Somers (Robert) of Dartmouth, NS Patty Kearns (Mike) of Ammon and Jill Esson (Darren) of Notre Dame; two sons, Peter (Ruth) and Michael (Lois) all of Riverview; sister, Joanne Lewis (late Reg) of Riverview; eleven grandchildren: Troy, Heather, Kristi, Devin, Michaela, Amanda, Robyn, Monika, Sam, Madison and Mackenzie; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Geraldine in 2014; sisters, Rosetta Briggs and infant sister Dorothy as well as infant brother, Robert. Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers & Riverview Funeral Home on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 2- 4 and 6-8pm with parish prayers being held at 7:30pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6 Moncton will be holding a Legion Service at 5:45pm. from the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 5 Fatima Dr, Riverview, NB on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 11am with Fr: Phil Mulligan officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. Donations in Hollis' memory made to the Diabetic Association would be appreciated by the family.
