Obituary of Ronald Huntington Duffy

It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Ronald "Ron" Huntington Duffy of Salisbury Rd, Moncton, who succumbed to cancer June 13, 2006. Born in Moncton on July 8, 1932, he was the son of the late Roy and Helen (Cobbett) Duffy. Ron worked for the CNR for 37 years as a carman; Day and Ross from 1988-1992; drove school bus with Metro until his retirement in 1997 for the Petitpas family. These were his most enjoyable years. He kept his charter bus license and was dedicated to the bus ministry bringing the children to church until his recent illness, and The K. E. Spencer Home (2005 with Susan Steeves). He was a member of the Allison Baptist Church and also attended Uplands Baptist Church. He was an avid sports fan, including stock car racing, hockey, and baseball. He is survived by his wife Donna (Demmings) Duffy, sons Ronald "Ron" E. Duffy (Kim Lutes) and her daughter Jenna, and Tracy C. Duffy (Gail) and grandchildren Paige and Alyson, who he loved with all his heart; special cousins Walter , Norman and Ralph Steeves of Berry Mills. He and Ralph spent many hours visiting and watching sporting events. Also by long time friends Leona Newman and Evelyn Vickers. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Duffy. Resting at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. Moncton on Thursday June 15, 2006 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. "Due to allergies, no scented products please" The funeral service will be held at The Uplands Baptist Church on Friday June 16, 2006 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gordon James officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. In Ron's memory, donations made to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital, Oncology Unit, Palliative Care Unit, or to the Uplands Baptist Church would be greatly appreciated.
