Obituary of Margaret M. Roberts
1910 - 2006
Margaret M. "Peggy" Roberts, 96, of Moncton,NB passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday August 5, 2006 following a brief illness.
She was the daugter of the late Phillip H. Fryers and Laura (Allanach) and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Margaret was born in Moncton and resided in the city throughout her life except the final two years during which she resided at Kels-Leigh Manor in Riverview.
She attended public school in Moncton and was a graduate of Mount Allison University Business Academy. She was a life long member of the Central United Church, a member of the UCW within the church.
Margaret had a keen interest in sports and was a competitive curler and golfer. She was a long standing member of both the Moncton Curlers Association and The Moncton Golf and Country Club. Her participation included membership on a provincial championship curling team and in numerous ladies golf tournaments in the maritimes. Other interests include reading, bridge, and classical music.
A gracious lady, her ready smile and kind words will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
At Margarets request there will be no viewing or visitation.
The memorial service will be held on Wednesday August 9, 2006 at 2:00pm with Rev. Aaron Billard officiating, with interment following in the family burial plot in Elmwood Cemetery.
