Obituary of Lee Gordon Matthews

Lee Gordon Matthews passed away peacefully on December 1, 2007 at McNair Manor, Beechwood Avenue, Moncton, NB. He was born in Alberton, PEI on January 3, 1920 to the late Wilfred and Lilla (Gordon) Matthews. Lee was the service manager for many years for Art Cummings and then City Chrysler Plymouth, Moncton, NB. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ortha (Carroll) Matthews of Lewisville, son Paul Matthews (Doreen) of Bridgewater, daughters Pat (Reg) Sherwood of Lower Coverdale, Cheryl (Archie MacDonald) of Lewisville, Colleen (Mike) McCabe of Calgary, AB, Barbara (Michael Breau) of St. Philippe, NB, grandchildren Jacey (Kyle) Ritchie of Moncton, NB, Matthew and Kate Sherwood of Miramichi, NB, Curtis (Vanessa) and Glen Matthews of Bridgewater, NS, Samuel Matthews of Lewisville, NB, Joshua and Alyson McCabe of Calgary, AB and great granddaughter, Neve Matthews of Bridgewater, NS. He is also survived by brothers Fred (Mona) of Miramichi, NB and Gerald of Toronto, ON, sisters Helen (Bernie) Leblanc of Moncton, NB and Linda (Bill) Clark of Ottawa, ON. Lee was predeceased by his daughter Marsha and his grandson Stephen Sherwood, brothers Glen, Ralph and Layton and sisters Dorothy Horseman, Marjorie Clark and Marion Johnson. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 8 at 11:00 at the Lewisville Baptist Church. There will be no visitation. Interment at Steeves Mountain Cemetery.
