Obituary of Kenneth Irving Duke

Kenneth I. Duke of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at the age of 83 years. Born in Moncton, NB on July 3, 1925 he was the son of the late Wallace and Hazel (Coles) Duke. Ken was a veteran of World War II serving within the North Shore Regiment. He retired after 25 years from the Supply Depot #5 in Moncton. He was a very proud, humble and honest man. He enjoyed entertaining family and friends by playing his piano and accordion. Ken was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6, and a member of the Air Force Veterans Association. He will be forever remembered by his only son Darrell (Debi) Duke with whom he resided; sisters Doris Bulmer of Vancouver BC, Belle (Vincent) Bulmer of Moncton, Marjorie Bulmer of Moncton, and Joyce (Bill) Parker of Vancouver BC; brother Jack (Jean) of Moncton; sister in law Peggy Duke of Moncton; grand daughter Shallyn Duke of Moncton,by a close friend Veronica Parlee of Moncton. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Mildred (Toole) in 1988; brother Wilfred in 1997; also by an infant sister Sally. Resting at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 from 2:00 - 4:00pm & 7:00 - 9:00pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6 will be holding a prayer service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 3:45pm. The funeral service will be held at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 11:00 am with Rev. Rick Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
