Obituary of Margaret "Jean" Mitton

Jean Mitton, 87, of Riverview, and formerly Lower Coverdale, NB; passed away at Monarch Hall, on Monday, February 18, 2013. Born in Moncton, Jean was the daughter of the late Walter and Lucy (Dobson) MacDonald. She was employed with the CNR, and later retired from Trico Credit Union with over 20 years service. Jean was a sports enthusiast and hockey mom, she Bowled at Riverview Parklanes, she was a member of The Moncton Golf and Country Club and Maplewood Golf Club, and she was a huge fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. A kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she will be deeply missed by her husband of 58 years Ken Mitton; her sons Steven Mitton (Vivian) of Moncton, Andy Mitton (Nancy), Gene Mitton (Patti) all of Riverview; grandchildren Jeremy, Matthew and Mark Mitton; step grandchildren Daniel and Luke Patterson; one sister Beth Rogers, one brother Rae MacDonald (Mary) all of Riverview; sisters-in-law Merna MacDonald-Breau and Marilyn MacDonald; brother-in-law Bill MacLeod; as well as nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a sister Pearl and brothers Coleman and Rodney MacDonald. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at the Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Road, Riverview on Saturday, February 23, 2013, from 2 to 4pm. The funeral service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 2:30 pm with Rev. Jeff Irving officiating. Interment will be in Wesleyan Union Cemetery in the spring. The Family wishes to thank the staff of Monarch Hall for loving and compassionate care given to Jean during her stay at Shannex Residences.
