Obituary of J. Vaughan LeBlanc

J. Vaughan LeBlanc, 91, Canterbury Hall, Coverdale Rd. and formerly of Windsor St. Riverview, passed away at the Moncton Hospital, Friday, February 27, 2015 following a courageous 2 year battle with prostate and bone cancer. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late George and Alice (Joyce) LeBlanc. He was a retired Supervisor of the CNR Transportation Department with 37 1/2 years service. A member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Riverview, and a member of the CN Pensioners Association, Vaughan was a veteran of WW II, having served with the Royal Canadian Air Force, stationed in Gander, NF. He is survived by his son David M. LeBlanc of Fredericton; as well as ten nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Frances LeBlanc in 1978; a brother Ralph LeBlanc and by sisters Irma Frenette and Marjorie Bourque. There is no viewing at the funeral home. The Funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 5 Fatima Dr. Riverview on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 1:30 pm with Fr. Phil Mulligan officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in the spring. Donations in Vaughan's memory made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Building Fund would be appreciated by his family. The family wish to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Canterbury Hall (Shannex) and also a special thank you to Dr. William Harper and nursing staff at the Moncton Hospital for their care and compassion given to Vaughan during his various stays at the hospital over the past 2 years.
