Obituary of Gerald Edward MacDonald

It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news that our kind, courageous, generous, gentle Dad, “Gerry” MacDonald, died - of courage, not cancer - peacefully, early Thursday morning March 15, 2007 at the George Dumont Hospital, Moncton. Born August 22, 1931 in Sydney Mines, Cape Breton N.S. He was the son of the late Aubrey Lucien MacDonald and Henedine Hildegard (MacNeil). Loving father of Brendan (Maureen), Brian (Bernie), David (Diane) and Mary Angela (Brettel). Predeceased by his youngest son Ian and dear wife of 55 years Angela. Grandfather of Chantal, Daniel, Emma and Rory. Brother of Lorne (Rita), Ottawa, Teresa (Robert Burns), Barrie, Ann (Jim Winstanley), Oshawa and Thad (Louise), Summerside also a loving uncle. Funeral liturgy will be held at St. Bernard’s Church, 43 Botsford St. Moncton. Monday March 19th at 11:00 am. Visiting to follow. All welcome. A memorial mass will also be held in Chelsea Quebec, with interment to MacLaren Cemetery, Mill Road, Wakefield, at a later date. Special thanks on behalf of the family to all of Dad’s friends, neighbours, care-givers and extended community. He was a great man for a story, a kind word, a good deed.
