Obituary of Gerard A. "Gerry" Richard

Gerry Richard, age 87 years, of The War Veterans Health Center passed away at his residence on Friday, September 10, 2010 with family by his side. Born in Rexton, NB on December 19, 1922 he was the son of the late Marcel and Mary (Cormier) Richard. He retired after 37 years as a machinist with The Canadian National Railways; he was a member of the CNR War Vets Club and a member of The CN Pensioneers Association. He was a member of Notre Dame de L'Assomption Roman Catholic Church. Forever remembered by his daughters Charlene (Andrew) Young of Riverview; Yvette Logan of Riverview; sisters Rita (Richard) Hoddinott of Ottawa ON; and Freda (Edward) Lotzmann of Vernon BC; four grandchildren Marisa Young of Moncton, Andrew (Stacy) Young of Riverview, Randy (Jenn) Logan of Moncton and Melanie Logan of Moncton; three great grandchildren Haley, Tyler, and Nathan; also by several nieces and nephews. Sadly Gerry will miss the birth of his great grandson due in November. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Angela M. Richard in 2001; son Michael in 1984; brother Leo Richard and sister Alma Long. At his request, there will be no funeral services held. A private family graveside will be held in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery. In Gerry's memory, donations made to the Alzheimers Society of South East, NB would be appreciated by his family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Bros.
