Obituary of Gerald Douglas Dryden

Gerald Dryden, age 74 years , passed away at The Moncton Hospital, on Saturday, May 14, 2011. He is now with his son in heaven. Born in Moncton he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (MacKay) Dryden. Gerald was a member of St. John's United Church; the Moncton Curlers Association; MCA Tuna Fishing Club; Past member of the Royal Canadian Legion branch # 6; the Air force Vets; Main Brace Club. He served with # 3 Royal Canadian Horse Artillery 1955-1958. He was employed with the Moncton Fire Department as Divisional Chief Training and formerly employed with Transport Canada. Gerald will be sadly missed by wife Karen (Barton); brother Lewis (Pat) ; mother- in- law Marion Barton; sister- in- laws Claudette and Eileen Dryden; best friend Phil Doiron also by several nieces, nephews, cousins and several brother and sister- in- laws. Gerald was predeceased by his son Ronald Dryden in 2006; brothers Robert, Gerald's twin Gary, John and Paul; sisters Jean and Alice; father- in- law Raymond (Buzz) Barton. By family request there will be no viewing or visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 11:00 am with Dr. Doug MacEachern officiating. Donations in Gerald's memory may be made to the Moncton Firefighters Burn Unit, the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
