Obituary of Glen Steven MacNairn
Glen Steven MacNairn of Dieppe, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at The Moncton Hospital, on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the age of 32 years. Born in Moncton he was the son of Stuart and Sylvia (Cook) MacNairn of Dieppe. Glen was a member of Scouts Canada for 10 years and was the proud recipient of the Jack Cornwall Decoration award which represents the member with a high level of Patience, Determination and Courage. Although battling Brain Tumors since he was 5 years old Glen faced everyday to the fullest. He graduated from Moncton High School in 1999; worked for 15 plus years with the Moncton Employment Training Services; he was involved with the Special Olympics Bowling League, loved nature, and excelled at completing many different types of crafts. Survived by his loving parents Stuart and Sylvia (Cook) MacNairn who have cared for Glen throughout his whole life; brother Scott MacNairn (Lianne) of Moncton; his only nephew who he had a special bond with Jacob MacNairn; maternal grandmother Laura Cook of Memramcook; aunts Carol Leger (Donaldo) of Memramcook, Jean MacNairn of Toronto; uncles Howard Cook (Corinne) of Moncton, Mark MacNairn of Saint John, and Brian (Linda) MacNairn of Red Deer AB; also by his best friend Pam Mills of Moncton. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Harry Cook; paternal grandparents Oswald and Helen MacNairn; uncles Rick Cook and Lance MacNairn. Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 10:30am until time of funeral service at 11:00am with Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations in Glen's memory made to the Brain Tumor Foundation or to The Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Bros.
