Obituary of Gloria McDonald RN

Gloria McDonald, 78, of Moncton, NB; passed away at her residence on Wednesday, November 18, 2015. Born in May 1937 in Moncton, Gloria is survived by her loving husband Angus. She is predeceased by her parents Gertrude and Percy Godsoe, her foster parents; her grandmother Lilla Corkum and Uncle Harland Corkum. Gloria was educated in Moncton and received her Registered Nurses Degree at the Moncton Hospital and her P.G. in Psychiatry at the Brandon Mental Hospital. Prior to her retirement she held the position as Director of Nursing at the Michener Center in Red Deer Alberta. She was a member of the retired Nurses Association and the Alumni of the Moncton Hospital School of Nursing. Gloria traveled with her husband Angus to areas in Canada, working at several hospitals as he was transferred by Tip Top Tailors to open new stores and train new staff. It was truly "whether thou goest, I will go". Between travels and work, Gloria loved to read and do puzzles. They retired to Moncton in 1993. and have always enjoyed being back with family. Left with fond memories are her husband Angus, her brothers Reg and Percy Godsoe; as well as nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, foster parents, grandmother and uncle she was predeceased by her brothers Carl, Palmer and Kenneth Godsoe and by her sister-in-law Mary McDonald. In keeping with Gloria's wishes, there is no visitation. The Memorial service will be held at Tuttle Brothers & Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, NB on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 1:00 pm with The Rev. Chris VanBuskirk officiating. A reception will follow immediately following the memorial service. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Donations in Gloria's memory made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or charity of choice would be appreciated by her family.
