Obituary of Stephanie Mary "Ruff" Lutes
Stephanie Mary "Ruff" Lutes, 95 , of Moncton, NB; passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015. Born in Dunstable, England, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Winnifred (Doble) Eads. In her earlier years, she served as an au pair for several children of Archduke Hubert and Archduchess Rosemary Hapsburg in a castle in Austria. The imminent start of the war forced her back to England, where she met a Canadian soldier, Bill Lutes, whom she followed back to Canada to become one of the first war brides in Moncton. Besides being a loving mother to her three children, she enjoyed gardening and knitting.
Survived by one daughter Rosemary Finch, of Calgary, AB.; two sons Fred (Anne) Lutes of Halifax, NS., John (Judy) Lutes of Ottawa, Ont.; sister Marjorie Weissman of Bruges, Belgium; four grandchildren Andrew, Jennifer, Kimberly and Scott, also by seven great- granchildren.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1991.
Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers & Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, NB on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 11AM until the time of the Funeral service.
The Funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers & Riverview Funeral Home, on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 12:00 pm with Rev. Douglas Painter officiating.
Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.
Donations in Stephanie's memory made to St. James Anglican Church, the Alzheimer's Society, Canadian Wildlife Foundation or to the Charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Briarlea Home for their care and compassion during Staphanie's stay. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
