Obituary of Helen "Irene" Shanks

Helen Irene Shanks, formerly of Braemar Dr. Moncton, NB; passed peacefully away at The Moncton Hospital, on Friday, March 8, 2019. Born in Oxford, NS, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Annie Marshall. Irene enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, quilting and her in early years she loved to fish. She spent many years camping at Grand Lake. She is sadly missed by her two sons Richard (Nicole) Shanks of Moncton and Michael (Carol) Shanks of Sussex, NB; four grandchildren Steven and Ryan Shanks, Kailey DeWinter (Jordan) and Justin Shanks (Haley) and by two great-grandchildren Branden and Chloe . Besides her parents she was also predeceased by her husband Edison Shanks and by one son David Shanks. Special thanks to the Manoir Notre Dame, 5200 nursing staff, Dr. McDonald and to Dawn Tucker LPN, a family friend who always checked on our mother in our absence. Family receiving relatives and friends at Tuttle Brothers Riverview Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10:00am until the time of the funeral at 11:00am. with The Rev. Chris VanBuskirk officating. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Donations in Helen Irene's memory made to the METS Inc. would be appreciated by her family.
