Obituary of Sherry E. Francis
After a long and courageously-fought battle with cancer, Sherry passed away at Moncton City Hospital on May 21, 2020 at the age of 67. Born in Rexton, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Jennie (Wilt) Roberts. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Allan Francis. Also survived by her stepson Jesse Francis and daughter-in-law Moira McGuire of Wellington, PEI as well as grandchildren Mary-Etta, Lucy, and Rory.
Also surviving Sherry are many loving sisters and brothers in Moncton, Rexton, Fredericton and Miramichi, NB. They are Gayle, Carl (Manny) (deceased), Wendy (Joe), Peter (Phyllis), Margo (Rodney), Valerie (Alvin), Dianne (Brian), Gregory (Patricia), Elaine, David (Nicole), Kimberley, Dan (Jill), and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Sherry loved many things in life: music, movies, walking, nature, and reading. Over the years Sherry enjoyed travelling, sailing, and motorcycling with her husband Allan. Among Sherry’s greatest joys in life were her family and friends. Following her diploma in business from Oulton’s Business College Sherry began a career in banking that lasted the next 43 years. Her many friends, colleagues and customers have always thought the world of Sherry as she always saw the good in everyone and encouraged the best in us all.
Sherry is remembered by all as a gentle, kind and loving soul. She supported and raised funds for many charities. Sherry was devoted for years to World Vision and underprivileged children both at home and away.
The last three years’ struggle with cancer would not have been possible without the help and care by so many family, friends, nurses and doctors with the Moncton City hospital as well as Extra-mural nursing. Special thanks to Drs. Harb, Grendar and the dedicated team at the Moncton Oncology Department. Also in latter days to Dr. Nicholas Anhorn ND of the Moncton Naturopathic Clinic and Dr. Mark Rudderham ND of Amherst NS for their care and treatments.
Thanks to so many dear friends and family for care, cooking and prayers; also to dear friends Hélène and Brian, Wayne and Linda and Laveran for all the special help. God bless you all. Donations are appreciated to the local charity of your choice.
If you’ve had Sherry for a friend, you were truly blessed.
We will keep her close in our hearts always.
