Obituary of Andrew "Drake" Cormier

Andrew "Drake" Cormier, 81, of Moncton, passed away at Villa du Repos in Moncton on Thursday, March 8, 2007. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late André and Bélzeme (Surette) Cormier. Drake is a former fire fighter with the Moncton Fire Dept. retiring with 28 years service He attended Holy Family Parish. He was a veteran of W.W.II serving with the Royal Canadian Army. Drake was an avid sportsman, he was a member of the Dieppe Goats Hockey team and he was an accomplished golfer, playing out of the former Mountain Ridge Golf Club, Magnetic Hill. He is survived by his son Glen Cormier of Moncton and a brother Laurie Cormier of Villa du Repos. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Catherine "Kay" (Phalen) Cormier in 2006; also by six brothers and one sister. By request there is no viewing or visitation at the Funeral Home. A Private Graveside and Committal Service will be held at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Andrew's memory made to the Parkinson Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by his family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home, (506) 857-8564.
