Obituary of Edith Mary Meredith
It is with great sadness that we the family announce that Edith M. Meredith, age 89, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at K.E. Spencer Memorial Home on Friday, November 21, 2008. Born in Moncton on October 8, 1919, she was the daughter of the Edward and Effie (Dowd) Donohue. Edith was a dedicated member of St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church. In her spare time, Edith would love to travel to visit her extended family and friends in Toronto, ON.
She is survived by her sons Robert (Connie) Meredith, Allan Meredith, and Michael Meredith all of Moncton; special friend Barbara of Moncton; sisters Helen Donohue, Kathleen Savage, both of Moncton; grandchildren Jeannette, Sandy, Shannon, Ronald, and Derek; 6 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Davies R. Meredith in 1993; son Tommy "T Tom" in 1974; sisters Margaret Budd (Percy) and Florence Cassidy (Walter), brothers John Donohue (Josephine) and Joe Donohue. brother in law Laurier Savage.
Resting at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home Lutz St. Moncton on Monday, November 24, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 4:00pm with Father Allison Carroll officiating.
Interment will be in St. Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery in the spring.
Donations in Edith's memory made to charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
The family wish to give special thanks to the Nurses and Staff of Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home “Fernwood Wing” for the love and care given to Edith during her stay at the home.
