Obituary of Earle Donald "Don" Wilson

Earle Donald Wilson, formerly of Riverview, passed away at Salvation Army Lakeview Manor in Riverview on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, one day prior to his 89th birthday. Born in New Horton, NB on April 29, 1921, he was the son of the late Earle and Helen (Huntley) Wilson. Don was a retired Conductor / Brakeman with the CNR. He attended Wesley Memorial United Church in Moncton. Don was a 65 year member of Keith Lodge # 23 F. & A.M. He was a veteran of WW II having served with the R.C.A.F. and he was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch # 6. Don was an avid salmon fisherman, he enjoyed fishing the Margaree River in NS; he also was a former guide in the Miramichi. He is survived by his wife Mary M. (McAllister) Wilson; three daughters Theresa Farris (John) of Judique, Cape Breton, Patricia Danberger (William) of Halifax, NS and Bonny Leger (Bernard) of Moncton; four sons David McAllister and James McAllister both of Moncton, Timothy McAllister of Shediac and John McAllister of Toronto; five grandchildren Jillian and Matthew Farris, Kelly, Richard and Fawn Manns; one great grandchild Hannah Manns; a sister-in-law Dorothy Cochrane of Fredericton; also by a special family friend Anne DeAdder. He was the last surviving of his immediate family. Resting at Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, with visitation on Thursday, April 29, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm and on Friday, April 30, 2010 from 7 to 9 pm. A masonic service conducted by The Keith Lodge # 23 F. & A.M. will be held on Thursday evening at 6:45 pm. at the funeral home. A veterans service conducted by The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 6 Moncton will be held on Friday evening at 6:45 pm. at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Phillip Griffin - Allwood officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Don's memory made to Dr. G. L. Dumont Hospital "Dialysis Unit", the Salvation Army Lakeview Manor Memorial Fund or to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by his family. .
