Obituary of Avilla Ruth Roundell
Avilla R. Roundell of Moncton, NB passed away at her residence after a sudden illness on Sunday, July 1, 2007 at the age of 85 years.
Avilla was born and raised in Sunny Brae, NB. She retired from the X-Ray Department at The Moncton Hospital after 15 years service. She was an active member of The Sunny Brae Baptist Church and served on numerous boards and committees within the church; a member of the Womens Missionary Society (WMS); a former sunday school teacher; a member of the Braesiders; she was a volunteer at The K. E. Spencer Home for many years after her retirement.
Avilla enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, reading, music, watching baseball, her gardens and above all she loved her family.
Left with fond memories are her daughters, Linda (David) Berry of Moncton and Susan (Ross) Drummond of New Zealand; son Robert (Beth) of Moncton; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd in 1993, son John in 2006 and her grandson Michael Berry in 1998.
At her request there will be no viewing or visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at The Sunny Brae Baptist Church on Thursday, July 5, 2007 at 11:00 am with Rev. Gordon Poley officiating. There will be a reception to follow the service at the church. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
