Obituary of Esther M. MacDonald

Esther MacDonald, 81, formerly of Iris Crescent Riverview; passed away with her loving family at her side at Serena Care in Moncton NB, on Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Born in Duvar PEI, she was the daughter of the late Emile and Emily (Richard) Arsenault. She retired from #5 Supply Depot Moncton after 16 years service. Esther enjoyed the great outdoors from camping in Cape Tormentine, shelling at the beach, gardening, she also loved to sew, knit, cook and doing her Christmas baking. A loving and caring wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Charles R. MacDonald; two daughters Nancy (Dan) Irvine of Riverview, Robin Hendry of Moncton; two sons Rob Hendry (Della) of Toronto and Mike Hendry (Theresa) of Oshawa; grandchildren Robert George, Robert James, Vanessa, Keri-Anne, Colleen, Tanya, Eric, Jeffrey and Emily; five great-grandchildren; a brother Edward Arsenault (Marg) of PEI; sister Linda Kerwin (Bill) of Saint John, NB., as well as her nieces, nephews and extended family. Besides her parents and her step-mother Dorothy (Gaudet) Arsenault, she was predeceased by her 1st husband Robert Hendry, her grand-daughter Meaghan Hendry; sister Edna Gallant and by two brothers Raymond and Oville Arsenault. Resting at the Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd with visitation on Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 7:00 to 9:00pm. Parish Prayers and Sharing of Memories will be held at The Funeral Home on Sunday evening at 8:30pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 5 Fatima Dr. Riverview, NB., on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 11:00 am with Fr. Charles Broderick officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Moncton at a later date. Donations in Esther's memory made to the Canadian Diabetic Association or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by her family.
