Obituary of Evelyn Eileen Gray
Evelyn E. Gray, 93, a long-time resident of Coronation Dr. Moncton, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2015 at the Dr. George L. Dumont University Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Sussex, N.B., on March 29, 1922, she was the daughter of the late O. Pearson and Carrie [Negus] Campbell. Evelyn was a founding member of St. James Anglican Church where she served on the Ladies Auxiliary. Throughout her life, she was a strong-willed, kind, and caring woman who was always on a mission to help family, friends, neighbors, or someone she had just met. She gratefully made the most of what she had, and yet, was always willing to share.
Besides her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Clinton [1968] and her brother Murray. She is survived by her sister and best friend, Audrey Sponagle of Sussex, NB; loving daughter, Elaine Jollymore [Wayne] and doting son, David; grandchildren, Tammy, David, Calley, and Laura; great- grandchildren, Elliot, Morgan, and Aiden; several nieces and nephews, especially Glen and wife Brenda; and "daughter" Shelley.
The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to Barry Trites for her kindness, Jacques and Carol Lavoie and the entire staff at Chenes de Membre, Shediac, for four years of care, friendship, and thoughtfulness, and The George Dumont Hospital Palliative Care Unit and the staff of 4C for their exceptional care and compassion during this very difficult time.
