Obituary of Emily Gosselin

At the age of 77, Emily Gosselin passed away peacefully at the Georges-L Dumont Hospital on Friday, Oct 26, 2018, with family by her side. Born in Trudel N.B., she was the daughter of the late Anna and Raoul Gosselin Emily was a very independent and strong willed woman who loved the outdoors whether it was fishing and hunting in her youth, picking wild strawberries for making jam or feeding the squirrels and birds in her later years. She had an amazing ear for music, could play many different instruments and could be found at kitchen parties with musician cousins. She enjoyed playing cribbage and of course her bingo nights with friends. She had worked in Saint John for Bathurst Containers and then came to Moncton to care for her friends’ mother, and then that friend. She was a giving person and had a big heart for those in need. Emily will be forever remembered by her sister Malvina Richard (Saint John), brother Reginald (Montreal), her niece Anita of Moncton, her nephews Robert, Norman; nieces Emily, Linda and Dianne, all from Saint John and area, whom she called "her" kids. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her four sisters: Amabelis, Helen, Evangeline, Alma; seven brothers: Emile, Albert, Francis, Clarence, Arthur, Albanie, and Ernest; her cherished brother-in-law Bernard Richard and godson Paul Richard. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Bernard’s Church, Botsford St, Moncton with Fr. Charles Broderick officiating. There will be no reception.
