Obituary of Leonard Burke

Leonard Burke, 95 years of the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville, NB passed away at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, on Sunday, February 5, 2012. Born in Moncton, NB on June 3, 1916 he was the son of the late William and Mae (Beals) Bourque. Leonard owned and operated Len's TV and Radio Service in Moncton for many years. He enjoyed spending time at Treasure Island, also skating, fishing, dancing, playing cribbage and doing electrical work. He was a member of St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church. Leonard will be sadly missed by his daughter Pat Metzler (Lorne) of Lockport, Manitoba; son Fred of Coquitlan BC; grandchildren Darryl and Randy Metzler, Lindsay, Jamie, Daniel Burke and their mother Anne; great grandchildren Darius and Gabi. Leonard was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son Bob; brothers George, Edgar, William and Walter; sisters Theresa Mann and Irene Hortie. Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home on Thursday February 9, 2012 from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church on Friday February 10, 2012 at 11:00 am with Father Allison Carroll officiating.
