Obituary of Ivan Raymond Lutes

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ivan Lutes of Moncton who passed away quietly on June 4, 2012 at his home while surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Moncton on September 22, 1932, he was the son of the late James R Lutes and Edna (Tower) Lutes of Moncton and is the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his devoted and loving wife of 48 years Diana (Vautour) Lutes, their 3 children Deneen Sprague (Kevin), Sheena Spicer (Larry), Ian Lutes, as well as Ivan’s children from a previous marriage Deborah Guthro (Joe), Sandra Lewis (Julien), Danny Lutes, Pamela Avery (Reg) of Ont., Cinthia Lutes (John), Allen Lutes (Cecile) and also a son Keith McPherson (Valerie) of McAdam. Ivan is survived by 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ivan will also be sadly missed by many other family and friends. Ivan was predeceased by his 2 brothers Ralph and Don, 2 sisters Thelma and Shirley, an infant son Ivan, a great grandchild Malike and a daughter-in-law Jemma. Ivan was an avid fisherman, hunter and pool player who also loved the hobby of wood working. Ivan began driving transport truck at the young age of 15 and worked for Allied Van Lines and then Atlas Van Lines until his retirement. During his career, he received many safe driving awards and other recognitions. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. Moncton from 2 pm until 3pm, immediately followed by a memorial service at 3pm. A reception will follow in the Funeral Home reception room. Mr. Lutes requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Bros.
