Obituary of Raymond "Ray" Gallant

Raymond Gallant, 88, of Riverview, NB; passed away at Monarch Hall, on Thursday, February 28, 2013. Born in Bronx, NY and grew up in Dorchester, NB, he was the son of the late Alban and Elizabeth (nee Bourque) Gallant. Ray had a zest for life and loved his family and friends dearly. He was employed with CN Railway for 40 years, retiring as manager for employee relation services for Atlantic Canada. Ray is survived by two sons Bruce (Cheryl) Gallant of Halifax, NS and Kevin (Linda) Gallant of Jupiter, Fla; three grandchildren Chelsea Grace Gallant, Carly Rae Gallant and Samuel Leo Bruce Gallant; three sisters Katherine (Henry) Saulnier of Bouctouche, Lauriel (Bernie) Richard of Moncton and Carol (Hugh) Carroll of Ottawa, ON; his brother Leonce (Joan) Gallant of Miramichi; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Beverly (nee Wayland) in 2006 and his brother Al (late Janet). Visitation will be held at Riverview Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 5th, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, with parish prayers and sharing of memories at 7:30 pm. The funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 5 Fatima Ave., Riverview on Wednesday, March 6th, 2013 at 11:00 am with Father Phil Mulligan officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery in the spring. Donations in Ray's memory made to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
