Obituary of Freda J. Steeves

Freda J. Steeves, 93, formerly of Moncton, passed away at The R K MacDonald Nursing Home in Antigonish. on Sunday, March 23, 2014. Born in Lewis Mountain on December 30, 1920 she was the daughter of the late Oliver K. and Lela Louise (Ripley) Duncan. She was a member of the T. Eaton Co. working in the sales dept. A member of the Central United Church. A member of the CNR Pensioneers, Past President of the Grand Int, Aux. Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, a life member of the UCW (Dr. Alice Harrison Unit), a member of the Scout Mothers Auxillary, also she taught sunday school in earlier years. Survived by her sons Robert "Bob" Donald (Judy) of Glen Haven, NS, and Brian Richard (Stacey) of Lanark, NS; brother Walter Duncan; grandchildren: John Steeves (Sparkle) of Spruce Grove, AB, Jennifer Kelsie (Trevor) of Dartmouth, NS, Oliver Steeves (Kara Kilfoil) of Calgary, AB, and JJ Ina Steeves (Matthew Morgan) of Halifax, NS; great grand Children Paige and Jackson Kelsie Dartmouth, NS, Charlotte, Beckett and Ellen Steeves Calgary AB; step great grand children Dominic, Travis and Brittania Dowhaniuk Spruce Grove AB; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Donald Lawrence Steeves in 1988; brothers Ormond, Wendell, Raymond, Robert, Thornton E. , Delbert A., Roy R., and twins Ernest and Morley who died in infancy; sisters R. Eva Lewis, Martha Simons and Mona Smith. Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. Moncton on Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 11:00am with Rev. Ron Maund officiating. There will be a reception following the service in the reception center at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
