Obituary of Edward Raymond Gilmore
Ted Gilmore, 92 years, of Moncton, NB passed away at the Veterans Health Care Centre on Saturday, August 16, 2014. Born in Plaster Rock, he was the son of the late George Frederick and Albina (Campbell) Gilmore. Ted was a veteran of WWII where he served overseas in the Royal Canadian Navy. Upon his return he attended UNB and Mount Allison University before going to work for Shawinigan Engineering and later Bechtel (Churchill Falls, Labrador). Ted took great pride in his work and retired at age 55; enjoying over 30 years of retirement. He enjoyed gardening and working outdoors, loved birdwatching and spending time with Sarah, the love of his life. Ted is survived by his wife of 72 years, Sarah Mary (Leger) Gilmore of Riverview as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents Ted was predeceased by his only son Ronnie in 1968, siblings Dorothy, Kay, and Gerry. Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers and Riverview Funeral Home on Tuesday August 19, 2014 from 1:00pm until the time of funeral service at 2:00pm. Internment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery. Donations in Ted's memory can be made to the Veterans Health Center or charity of the donor's choice.
