Obituary of Alban "Chummy" Oliver Belliveau

Alban "Chummy" Belliveau, 85, of Moncton, passed away at Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton on Tuesday, November 11, 2008. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Edward and Philinise (LeBlanc) Belliveau. Chummy was a retired pipefitter with the CNR after forty-seven years service. He was a member of the Cathedrale N-D L'Assomption and a 3rd. degree member of the Knights of Columbus # 1310 Sunny Brae, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 6 Moncton and also a member of the CN Pensioners. Alban was a veteran of W.W.II, having served with the Medical Corps. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Rita Belliveau, daughters Murielle Noddin (John) of Saint John, Jeanne Geldart (Ken) of Moncton and Shirley Waselynchuk (Gerry) of Moncton; one son Edward J. Belliveau (Mary Lou) of Riverview; grandchildren Eddie (Bonnie), Jason (Jennifer), Kathryn (Ian), Peter, Tony, Debbie (Ronnie) and Andrew (Amanda); two great grandchildren Spencer and Paige; two sisters Gloria Bourque of Bouctouche and Yvonne Bourgeois of Moncton; two brothers Paul Belliveau (Gloria) and Maurice Belliveau (Beatrice) of Shediac; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two sisters Juliette and Diana; also by a brother Yvon. Resting at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, Lutz St. Moncton on Sunday, November 16, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral mass will be held at Cathedrale N-D L'Assomption on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 11:00 am with Fr. Dallaire officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe, NB. Donations in Chummy's memory made to the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital Foundation (Dialysis Unit) would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Bros.
