Obituary of Amy Irene Bursey
Amy I. Bursey, 90, formerly of Pleasant St. Moncton, passed away at Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home on Tuesday, December 9, 2008. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Seldon and Minnie G. (Eagles) Hicks. Amy was an active member of the Lewisville Baptist Church, she was a member of WMS and a Sunday School Teacher and coordinator of Vacation Bible School for many years. She was also a director and camp councillor of Camp Wildwood and was a member of the Braesiders and the Keen Agers Seniors Club.
A loving and caring mother, nana and friend, she will be sadly missed by her daughter Ruth Ellen (Richard) Goutal of Manchester by the Sea, Ma. USA; her son Gary (Rhonda) Bursey of Moncton; her ten grandchildren Judy Cartwright, Shary (David) Horsman, Wendy (Andre) Robin, Debby Cartwright, Jamy (Margo) Cartwright, Todd (Danielle) Bursey, Tanya (Derek) Steeves , Suzanne (Jeffrey) Shiduke, Rebecca Criswell and Kate Goutal; eighteen great grandchildren; one sister Elsie Walker of Riverview, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by husband Harold W. Bursey in 1986; her daughter Faye Cartwright in 1978; her son James H. Bursey in 1947 and by her brother Murdock Hicks in 1967.
Resting at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, Lutz St. Moncton with visitation on Friday, December 12, 2008 from 7 to 9pm.
The funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Gordon MacLeod officiating.
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in the spring.
