Obituary of Jenny Winifred Hedgecoe

Jenny Winifred Hedgecoe of the Golden Years Estates in Moncton passed away at The Moncton Hospital, on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the age of 90 years. Born in Montreal PQ on February 1st, 1927 she was the daughter of the late John William and Sarah Jane (Massey) Hedgecoe. Following graduation from Moncton High School in 1943, she was employed by the Federal Government for forty years retiring December 31, 1983 from Transport Canada. During her service she was awarded the Public Service Merit Award and the Queen's Silver Jubilee Medal. She was a member of St. Philliphs Anglican Church, Moncton and a former member of Girl Guides Canada; Doctor Clarence Webster Chapter IODE; Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi; and Lakeside Golf and Country Club. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by one niece Linda (Peter) Firth, Winnipeg, MB; three nephews Robert (Pauline) Whittle, Elgin, NB; Barrie (Barbara) Mainwaring, High River, AB; and Brian (Marjie) Mainwaring, Calgary AB; grand nieces and nephews; great grand nieces and nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was predeceased by sisters Doris (late Edward Whittle), Gwendolene (late Malcolm Mainwaring) and Lillian (late Frederick MacDonald). At her request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in the spring.
