Obituary of Madonna Simon

Madonna Simon, of Upper Coverdale, NB and formerly of Port au Port, Newfoundland; passed away in Moncton at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Born in Southern Harbour, Placentia Bay, NL; she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Susan Leonard. A loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother sister and friend, she will be sadly missed by her loving daughters Cynthia (Glen) Jardine of Upper Coverdale and Sylvia (Greg) Tshritter of Alberta; three sisters, Lucy (Vincent), Madeline (Albert), Rita (Garry); three brothers, Tom (Vera) Leo (Cathline), Burn (Marie); her adoring grandchildren; Jadin (Chantel), Tammy (Ron), Vanessa, Matthew, Courtney, Chelsey, Joshua (Emma), Jessica (Kyle) and Ben; great grandchildren, Gavin, Zack, Ciara, Emily, Jacob, Chloe, Jillian, Caleb, Abby and Aila; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Neil J. Simon; two sisters, Jackie and Cathrine; one brother Felix. Honouring Madonna's wishes, cremation has taken place at Tuttle Brothers Crematorium in Riverview. A family service will be held at a later date in Cape St. George Cemetery in Newfoundland. Donations in Madonna's memory made to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family.
