Obituary of Ronald "Ron" Lorne Steeves

Ronald Lorne Steeves of Lower Coverdale passed away on Monday October 1, 2018 at the age of 80. Born in Moncton, NB he was the son of the late Henry Lorne and Vera Steeves (Steeves). Ron was known as Mr. AMC. He was an avid believer of anything AMC, and would often tell you more than you needed to know. He would take one of his many AMC’s to car shows and delight passersby’s with his knowledge. Ron had been a rally participant for many years and a fan of Formula 1 racing. Ron attended many folk festivals, The Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival being his favourite. He also enjoyed travelling to New York for musical theatre, Florida and Europe. Ron always had cats; Bucky and Gypsy will miss him. Ron was a long time member of P.A.C.E.(People Alone Caring Enough), Moncton Motor Sport Club, NB Antique Auto Club, and the Northern Ramblers Car Club. Ron sponsored the MAMA award for the Most Active Member Award at the Moncton Motor Sports Club. He was a member of Trinity United Church, Riverview. Ron is the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by long time companion Lorraine Casey and had a special place in his heart for great-niece Valerie Steeves, Halifax. Ron was predeceased by siblings Marjorie, Sylvia and Harold and half siblings Winston, W. Borden, Lorne, and M. Frances. Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers and Riverview Funeral Home on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Tuttle Brothers and Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 5 at 11:00am. Everyone is welcome to bring their classic cars to the visitation Thursday evening. Interment will be held at Wilmot Cemetery. Donations in Ron’s memory can be made to SPCA or Ovarian Cancer Canada or to donor’s choice.
