Obituary of Gertrude Robertson

Gertrude (Trudy) Robertson of Moncton, NB passed away at her residence on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the age of 79. Born in Montréal, QC the daughter of the late David and Gertrude (Bartlett) Milne. A ray of light that would instantly brighten any room, Trudy cared so much for everyone around her, always helping friends, family, and those in need in her community. Perfectly suited to be a nurse, Trudy began her career at the Montreal General Hospital. She then met the love of her life, Taun, with whom she shared many adventures. She devoted her skills as a caregiver so lovingly to Taun throughout his life. Trudy also dedicated much of her time to volunteering - palliative care, breakfast programs for children, and Girl Guides of Canada to name a few. Trudy enjoyed travelling, especially road trips, and was comfortable putting her head down wherever she found herself. She enjoyed racing at the Shediac Bay Yacht Club and spent many years enjoying the cottage at Lake Barron in Quebec. She had an easygoing presence that drew people toward her and saw the best in everyone. She walked through life, going with the flow, with love and thoughtfulness toward all. We are left brokenhearted, and the void she leaves is vast, but we're thankful that her departure was peaceful and surrounded by loved ones as her spirit rose. Forever the kindest of souls, her last breath was spoken with words of love. She is survived by her daughter, Susan McKee (Tony) of Riverview; son, David (Jessica Hahling) of Ottawa, ON. In addition to her parents, Trudy was predeceased by her husband, Taun Robertson. In honor of Trudy's wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family would appreciate donations to the Girl Guides of Canada in Trudy's memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Brothers & Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, NB (506) 857-9544. Online condolences may be made at www.tuttlefuneralhome.ca Requested Charity Girl Guides of Canada
