Obituary of Dorothy I. Whitenect

Dorothy Ileta Whitenect, widow of the late Roy Whitenect (1983) of the Jordan Life Care Center, River Glade, NB and formerly of McLaughlin Dr. Moncton, NB, passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the age of 93 years.Born in Moncton on June 7, 1914 she was the daughter of the late Annie Donnelly Lutes (Tilbert) and George Lawrence. She was a member of First United Church; a home maker and a loving mother and grandmother. She willl be sadly missed by her family. She was an avid reader, loved to embroider, sew, and especially knit which included dozens of baby sets, mittens, scarves and Mary Maxim sweaters. She loved her small garden and her flowers. In years gone by she was an all round handy woman; when something had to be fixed or repaired, she was always up to the challenge. She is survived by six daughters Winnifred of Jordan Life Care Center, River Glade, Dorothy Kelly (Russell), Lutes Mountain, Barbara Laird (Lee), Porters Lake, NS, Norma Elges, Shediac River, Christine Surette (Michael) Moncton, Carol Mullin (Kenny), Moncton; three sisters Myrtle Wilson Cormier (the late Joseph Cormier), Laura McLellan (the late Bill McLellan), Bernice Bratton (Ed); brothers Kirby (Udivella) Donnelly and Stewart (Lois) Donnelly all of Moncton; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by her son Roy in 2006; grandchildren Danny Laird and Roderick Elges; brothers Henry, Clinton and Thomas; sister Colleen. Resting at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm & 7:00pm to 9:00pm.The funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 10:00 am with Rev. Dr. Richard Jackson officiating. There will be a reception following the service at the funeral home.Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. As expression of sympathy, donations made to The Jordan Lifecare Foundation or to the memorial of the donors choice would be appreciated.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Bros.
