Obituary of Alva J. Chase

Alva J. Chase, 85, of The Glades, NB; passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, November 12, 2009. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Jennie A. (Cissell) Woodard. Alva attended The Glades United Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting and living in the country, admiring all its natural beauty and wildlife. She is survived by her son Ricky Wilson with whom she resided; her daughter Patsy Goddard (Corey) of London, ON; grandchildren Shawn and Robbie Goddard, two sisters Joan Hesson of ON; and Agnes Woodard of Drummondville, PQ; two brothers Ralph (Bryna) of Sherbrooke, PQ; and Henry Woodard of PEI; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her 1st husband Everett Wilson, her 2nd husband Thomas Chase in 2004. At Alva's request there is no visitation at the Funeral Home The Graveside and Committal Service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Moncton, on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 2:00 pm with Rev. David Evans officiating. Donations in Alva's memory made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by her family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Bros.
