Obituary of Donald H. Mix

Donald "Don" Henry Mix, 83years, of Moncton, NB, passed away at Pro Tem Health Services Residence, Moncton, on Tuesday, August 2, 2011. Born in Chicago, Il, he was the son of the late Philip Bennett Mix and Elizabeth (Darling) Mix Bartlett. Don was a teacher at Riverview High School for 22 years. He was a member of the Gospel Hall, Moncton. He was an avid curler and golfer, and a member of the Beaver Curling Club and the Moncton Golf and Country Club. Don also served two terms on the Riverview Town Council. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 39 years, Carole (Lewis) Mix; children, Philip Mix of Riverview, Ruth Mix Ross (Patrick) of London, ON, and Lily Mix Harris (John) of Riverview, their mother, Reta Mix, also of Riverview; and nine grandchildren: Adam Mix (Kathryn) and Amy Mix, both of Fredericton; Derek Mix Ross (Alison), Aaron Mix-Ross and Sarah Mix-Ross, all of London, ON; and Joshua Harris, Linsey Harris, Laura Harris and Jessi Harris, all of Riverview. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant brother, William. A private family service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel, Moncton. In memory of "Donnie", donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Interment will be held in Hillside Cemetery, Strathcona, NS.
