Obituary of Dr. Hyon Lee

Dr Hyon Lee, (May 16, 1930 – March 20, 2012) passed away peacefully with loving family by his side. Predeceased by his father Sang Gee, mother Chang Soo (Kim) and sister Min Ja, he is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ichiko (Fujiwara), his step-daughters Mary (Burke), Barbara (Harper) and Debi (Burke), his brother Joon and wife Song Ja, nephew Ho, nieces Ji Yun & Sung Yun and grand-daughter Jennifer (Mau). After graduating with his medical degree in his native Korea in 1958, he completed residencies in ENT, surgery and anesthesiology. Upon arrival in Canada, he married Ichiko and after a few years in Montreal, QC moved to Caraquet, NB in 1969 where he practiced at L’Enfant Jesus Hospital until his retirement in 1981. From 1982 to 2007, he provided much welcome relief to many Moncton residents in his acupuncture clinic. Dr Lee was a quiet man who cherished his walks on Parlee Beach where he enjoyed watching the birds. A memorial service is planned for May. The family would like to thank Roberta Buchanan, the staff at both Residence Aventure and Moncton Hospital for their attentive care during his final days.
