Obituary of David William Scott
David William Scott of Riverview, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully on the morning of April 7, 2012. Born in Dunfermline, Scotland to William Kennedy Scott (1903-1975) and Annie Wilkie (1905-1995), he was a veteran of the British Merchant Marines, serving as chief electrician aboard several vessels from 1952-1957. He immigrated to Toronto in 1961 with his wife Eileen Sutherland Mowat (1933-2011) and daughter Barbara Anne, where he worked for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, and with his wife, ran one of Toronto's first group homes for youth. Following his retirement in 1985, he and Eileen moved to Cobourg, Ontario, and in 1999 to Riverview New Brunswick to be closer to family. His humour, love, and passion will be sorely missed by his daughter Barbara Anne (Truro Nova Scotia; Steven Bond, Fredericton, New Brunswick), sister Una (David Anderson; Alloa, Clackmannanshire, Scotland), grandchildren Alexander Bond (Jeremy McGillan; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) and Kate Bond (Jeremy Thorne; Riverview, New Brunswick), and great-granddaughter Morgan Bond (Riverview, New Brunswick), as well as his many dear friends and extended family. A celebration of David’s life will be held from 7pm until 9pm on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd., Riverview, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations to Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation or to the Hemophilia Foundation would be appreciated. Online condolences may be made at www.tuttlefuneralhome.ca
