Obituary of Dr. Thomas Russell Crawford MD
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Dr. Tom Crawford MD of Riverview and formerly of Sydney River, NS; which occurred at the Moncton Hospital on Monday, December 10, 2012 in his 58th year. Born in Saint John, NB; he was the son of the late Carson T. and Edythe (Russell) Crawford.
Tom started his studies at Acadia University graduating with a Science Degree, he then enrolled in Medicine at Dalhousie University. After practicing family medicine in Plaster Rock, NB for many years, he moved to Guelph, ON and completed his Fellowship in Addiction Medicine at MacMaster University. Tom was also a lecturer at Dalhousie University at the Department of Family Medicine and was a Foreign Medical Graduate Program Supervisor. He was an Adjunct Professor, Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Cape Breton University. Tom served on many boards, committees, and societies during his medical career.
Tom was dedicated to medicine, and helped countless people throughout his family practice and his work in Addiction Services. He will be best remembered for his sense of humor, his compassion and his love for salmon fishing and golf.
A loving and caring husband, father, brother and Doctor, he will be sadly missed by his loving wife of thirty-four years Debbie Graves, his adoring daughters Sarah and Caitlin Crawford both of Riverview; his sister Carolyn Crawford of Halifax, NS; father-in-law and mother-in-law Royce and Joan Graves of Riverview; also by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and his many patients and friends.
Honoring Tom's wishes a private family ceremony will be held.
Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery, Riverview NB.
