Obituary of David Joseph Quigley

C’est avec grande tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès de notre cher père David Joseph Quigley. Le partage de belles mémoires aura lieu à la : Maison Funéraire Tuttle Brothers 171 Lutz St. Moncton, NB le dimanche 20 janvier 2013 de 15 h à 17 h. David est décédé le jeudi 17 janvier 2013 à l’Hôpital Universitaire Dr Georges L. Dumont de Moncton, à l’âge de 73 ans. Né à Noranda, Québec, il était fils du défunt James et Marie Anna Quigley. David était l’ancien propriétaire opérateur du Bar Le Canoë à Trois-Rivières, Québec. Il était un avide athlète et excella en canot et en marche de vitesse. David a déménagé au Nouveau-Brunswick en 1990 et débuta l’agriculture biologique et pour plusieurs années a délivré ses produits au marché des fermiers de Moncton. David prenait plaisir à lire sa bible à tous les jours. Père rempli d’amour et d’affection, grand-père, frère et un ami, il était l’ex-époux de Mme Denise Poirier, merveilleuse mère de ses enfants. Il manquera grandement à ses enfants : David Jr (Laura-Lise Belliveau) de l’Ïle Madame, NS, Allen (Martine Boulay) de Trois-Rivières QC, Steve (Barbara Tobin) de Galloway, NB, Larry (Nicole Gaudet) de Barachois, NB et Sandra (Claude Pelletier) de Paquetteville, NB; à ses 22 merveilleux petits enfants; à sa soeur Barbara de Sherbrooke, QC; ainsi qu’à un grand nombre de nièces, neveux, cousins et cousines. Outre ses parents, l’ont précédé ses frères et soeurs : Sonny James, Denis, Betty, Jenny, Norman et Archie. Des dons à la mémoire de David faits à la Fondation des maladies du Coeur de Saint-Jean ou à la Fondation de l’Hôpital Dr Georges L. Dumont « département d’oncologie » seraient grandement appréciés. Un goûter sera servi pour les amis et la parenté qui se joindront à la famille au 1665 Elmwood, Dr., Centre communautaire Tankville de Moncton, NB, qui aura lieu immédiatement après le cortège vers le cimetière Elmwood. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving father David Joseph Quigley, Sharing of memories will be held at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. Moncton, NB on Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. David passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital in Moncton at the age of 73. Born in Noranda, Que. he was the son of the late James and Marie Anna Quigley. David was the former owner/operator of Bar le Canoë in Trois Rivieres, Que. He was a avid sportsman and he excelled at canoeing and race walking. David moved to New Brunswick in 1990 and started organic farming and for many years he served his product at the Moncton Farmers Market. David also enjoyed reading his bible every day. A loving and caring father, grandfather, brother and friend, he will be sadly missed by his children David Jr. (Laura-Lise) of Isle Madame, NS, Allen (Martine) of Trois Rivieres, Que, Steve (Barbara) of Galloway, NB, Larry (Nicole) of Barachois, NB and Sandra (Claude) Pelletier of Paquetville, NB; by his twenty-two adoring grandchildren John, Jacob, James, Monica, Marisa, Marie Eve and Michelle, Chloe Ann, Christopher, Chelcea, Rachelle, Sarah-Rebeccah and Benjamin, Andrew, Jason, Pamella and Melissa, Katrina, Alexandre, Joël, Sarah and Laura; his sister Barbara Boisvert of Sherbrooke, Que; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his siblings Sonny James, Denis, Betty, Jenny, Norman and Archie. Donations in David's memory made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Saint John or to the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital Foundation "Oncology Clinic" would be appreciated. Friends and relatives are asked to join the family at 1665 Elmwood Dr., the Tankville Community Center on Sunday immediately following the procession to Elmwood Cemetery.
