Obituary of Danny M. Shea
Danny Michael Shea, of Saint John and formerly of Moncton, passed away unexpectedly at his residence, on Thursday, April 2, 2015. Born in Sackville May 29, 1958, he is the son of Pauline (Melanson) and the late Ralph Shea.
Survived by his sons, Darcy James and Liam Bateman Shea, both of Rothesay and their mother Elaine Bateman; three sisters, Nancy Ashley (Ron) of Riverview, Dr. Catherine Shea (Peter Montgomery) of Ottawa, Linda Shea (David Hutchison) of Calgary; one brother, Dr. Victor Shea of Toronto; nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by one sister, Susan Shea.
He was a graduate of Moncton High School (Class of 1976) and Mount Allison University (Bachelor of Commerce). After graduation, he began a 28-year career with the Canada Revenue Agency.
In his youth, Danny was an outstanding athlete in every sport he played. He was point guard for the varsity basketball team in high school and university. He encouraged, guided and coached both of his sons in his favourite sport.
Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers & Riverview Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm.
A Memorial service will be held at Tuttle Brothers and Riverview Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 214 Pine Glen Rd. on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 1 pm with Fr. Charlie Broderick officiating.
Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in late spring.
Donations in Danny's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
