Obituary of Dorothy Bowser

In Loving Memory of Dorothy Bowser It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Dorothy "Dot, Mum, Nannie, Dottie" (Baker) Bowser in Moncton, NB, on July 22, 2022 at the age of 81. She was born in West Jeddore, NS, to Douglas and Iva (Kent) Baker. Dorothy worked for the provincial government of NS for her entire career, retiring in 1994. She took great pride in all that she did, and that included her job. She would say to me, "if it is off by a penny it could be off by a million dollars". She worked in reconciliations in the Finance Department. Dot lived in Musquodoboit Harbour for most of her adult life, where she had many friends. There, she toiled endlessly to build a beautiful flower garden over pretty much every inch of the property! She loved every minute of it, of course. People still talk about these gardens and in the day would ask permission to come and take professional photos for graduation, weddings, etc. In 2002, Dot moved to New Brunswick to be close to her daughter, Debi, very likely hoping there would eventually be a grandchild. She got her wish when along came her beloved Julie. Dot will be remembered as generous, friendly, fun and a fiercely independent soul. She was someone who would frequently chat with a stranger or go out of her way to help a friend. She was always there for her family, taking care of Miss Julie any time she was asked, weeding Debi’s garden or picking berries and making jam. She was a strong lady, living life on her terms. We miss you, mum. Dot is survived by her daughter Debi, her ‘favourite son-in-law’ Victor, the pride and joy of recent years her granddaughter Julie and her siblings; Gladys (Reg), Florence (late Ogle) and Douglas (Eileen). She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Warren (late Neva), Debi’s father/Dot’s former husband Glen and other beloved family members. There will be a graveside goodbye to Dot at the West Jeddore United Baptist Cemetery, Lower West Jeddore, NS on Saturday, August 27 at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Aubrey Deslatte. Dot was cremated, as per her wishes, and arrangements were impeccably taken care of by Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home Riverview, NB. You can send condolences or share a memory at www.tuttlefuneralhome.ca.
